Thomas Robert Lee is a Canadian writer, director, and producer. His debut feature Empyrean (2015) was independently financed and produced. Empyrean is a science-fiction art drama, shot in black-and-white, about a man who experiences a psychic awakening after emerging from a coma. His sophomore feature was The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw (2020 - originally titled The Ballad of Audrey Earnshaw), a folk horror tale about a mother and daughter suspected of witchcraft by their devout rural community. Audrey Earnshaw was produced with the participation of Telefilm Canada and had its world premiere at Fantasia International Film Festival, where it was nominated for the Cheval Noir.
Thomas currently has two features in development - The Burial, which received Development Support from Telefilm Canada, and Eden. He is based in Toronto, where he lives with his wife and creative partner, Kendra Terpenning, and their Shih Tzu, Gumdrop.
